When I was a kid, I loved to run around barefoot. Perhaps because of this, I now have very wide feet, and shoes have almost universally been uncomfortable, and difficult to fit. These shoes are a dream. The laces across the top allow me to loosen the fit and it feels like I'm barely wearing anything. They are light as a feather, but protect my feet from the pavement, and look more socially acceptable than wearing stocking feet at the office. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a natural feel that's easy on the feet.

I had the first generation Merrell Road Gloves which were excellent. But I needed a shoe with just a little bit more substantial cushioning for those times when I want a relaxing casual run. However the overlays on the Bare Access 2 caused severe blistering on my outer foot where my small protruding bone rubbed against the firmer "wall" created by the overlays. Fail for me. Might work for others. I will stick with my Road Glove First Gens.
