Very lightweight and comfortable. I wear these shoes to work every day. Very comfortable right out of the box. I like not having to worry about lacing them up, just slip them on and go.

Size runs large choose smaller if intended for use in water I bought this online and used it in the Narrows and Angel's Landing. Which is a good test for wet and dry usage and for a long hike. For the Narrows, since I'll be wearing a 2 mm thick neoprene socks I bought size 9 which for most of my athletic shoes fit me perfectly wearing thick socks. However, I did not account for the lack of padding inside the shoes which makes its inner volume larger although the shoe itself looks smaller than my old ventilator which is half a size smaller. Needless to say, I had a higher lift on my heel and almost an inch of space from my big toe to the tip of the shoe. I had to use a thicker inner sole from another shoe and a gel pad on my heel. Furthermore, when soaked under water, the shoes stretch a bit more and my feet slips slightly inside which makes the larger size more noticeable and uncomfortable. I would prefer half or even a full size smaller for this type of shoes and for the use that it would be subjected to (long hikes). With respect to material and design, it dries quickly even if it was soaked the whole day and the water runs out of the holes so your feet does not remain soaked if you step on dry land. The rubber sole had good grip with wet rocks but not as good as the 5.10 Canyoneers. The lack of ankle support also did not help on the long river hike as you would be twisting and turning your feet stepping on uneven river ground. Had it not for the bad sizing and fit, this might be a good all around hiking shoes for a short 3-5 mile hike. I will try my old ventilator and if I think that feels better than the oversized capri I won't pursue wearing thicker socks just to have better fit. Besides it depletes the purpose of breathability.

Great Comfortable Shoes Bought these shoes from Bass Pro. They are extremely comfortable. I even wore them the first day to my son's basketball practice and even shot a few shots in the shoes. They did rub my achilles on the right foot the first day. However wearing thicker socks fixed that problem. These are by far the most comfortable pair of shoes I have had.

Paddle on the Wild Side Stand up paddling on a river or inland waterway often necessitates a couple different pieces of gear than coastal paddlers are accustomed to using. One of the main items which quickly stands out is footwear. Merrell’s Capra Rapid water shoes are a perfect fit for the outdoor environment where soft sandy beaches are not the norm. I tested a pair this spring stand-up paddling on lakes and rivers in the Colorado front-range where the waterways typically feature rocky bottoms. These sneaker look-a-like water shoes offer excellent drainage for the adventurous types. They provide the comfort of a shoe with the quick drainage of a sandal. The rubber sole design offers extreme grip featuring Merrell Select Wet Grip providing the needed traction on wet or dry surfaces. These shoes work well for stand up paddling on moving or flat water. So often the entrance and exit areas for paddle excursions are surrounded by rocks, brush or other rough surfaces which may be harsh on the bare feet, but the secure fit of the Capra Rapids enabled me to enter and exit the water with confidence and ease. The shoes weigh a mere 1 lb 6 oz (623 g) and come with a speed lace system which allows you to quickly secure them. Merrell provides an insole which I recommend you remove when drying the shoes. This will speed up the drying process and allow the you to easily remove any pebbles which may have lodged themselves inside the shoes. Footwear is essential when whitewater paddling and I found the Capra Rapids provide excellent protection in rough conditions and during falls. The shoes come in four color options: Bright Blue, Bright Red, Blue Dusk, and Black. After a couple hours on the river, these shoes can quickly transition to wear around town; this added versatility puts the Capra Rapid ahead of other water shoes on the market.
