Combining his love of exploration and adventure, Dr. Simon Donato runs Adventure Science, a company that leads scientists and search parties into remote locations. He also heads up Stoked Oats, a Calgary-based company committed to sharing its healthy, nutritious and delicious breakfast cereal with the world.

As host of the new adventure travel show Boundless, Simon travels the globe competing in some of the most grueling ultra-endurance races on the planet, from the barrens of interior Iceland to the Sahara Desert and Cambodian Jungle. This 10-part documentary sees Simon pushing himself to the limit and beyond in some of the world’s most extreme races.
Simon’s go-to philosophy sums up his adventurous, thrill-seeking spirit best: “Far better is it to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure... than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy nor suffer much, because they live in a gray twilight that knows not victory nor defeat” - Theodore Roosevelt.

Christian has learned to persevere in the face of adversity. He used to believe he had no aptitude for school or for life, but once he discovered his passion for running, he was able to face every challenge life threw at him. In 2009, he even finished one of the most difficult races in the world: the Marathon des Sables in Morocco.

In 2006, he set up a foundation in his name whose mission it is to provide equal opportunities and a chance for success to young people in need.
Determination: it’s not the road we travel that makes a difference, but the way in which we travel it. In life, it’s more important to feel strong than to be strong. We need to challenge ourselves at least once in our lifetime to find out what we are made of. And we must never give up.
