This style of merrells is a little narrower than some both side to side and up and down - i guess that would be height - this meant that when I inserted my custome orthotics the shoes felt too small. However I tried them with my older orthotics and they are comfortable now. Just be aware of this if you are buying the larger sizes as I did the 11.
