This is the 2nd pair of Merrell's I have purchased. Was so happy with the 1st pair I replaced them with this newer model. Shoe is very comfortable and allows my feet to keep dry. I wear these shoes daily and all year round. I highly recommend this shoe!

When I received the shoes and tried them on I was disappointed. Though the fitting was perfect, the shoes felt as if made of paper. Not confortable at all. Hard. Too open on the ancle. But after a week, they fit much better. Another thing that bothered me at the beginning was that there are no additional holes in which people with thin ancles will fasten the slings. I had the feeling that the shoes were going to fall off my feet while I was walking. Now I got used to it and I find it practical to "jump" into them without having to fastern them.

I have been using Merrells for quite a few years now. When I first started using them, they were so comfortable I thought I would never try another brand. I found them to be the most comfortable and long lasting, so there was no need to bother looking at others. However I have noticed that the last couple of pairs I have purchased do not seem to be nearly as comfortable. They feel harder and not as flexible.

  • Great shoe but doesn't last

I would really give this shoe 3.5 stars but that is not an option. This is a great shoe for light use, but if you plan on walking in them daily they just won't last. I walk about 25-30 km in them each week walking my dog on local trails. The shoes have a great fit and are super comfy, I really do love them but am disappointed in their longevity. The first pair I bought, within two weeks the stitching started to come undone, they were replaced free of charge. The replacement pair managed to last me another six months at most. The waterproofing just doesn't last and I wore the soles down pretty quickly. I loved the fit of the shoe so much I bought a second pair to replace the first last November. I walked in them for Nov/Dec until I had to switch to winter boots for Jan-Mar. Since April the waterproofing has completely worn off so my feet get soaked in the wet grass in the morning (it's now August) and the stitching started coming undone at the end of June. I am now back to walking in my original pair since, although the sole is worn down, they are not falling apart. I will be looking for a different shoe this time around. The shoe runs slightly small, I am generally a 6 but had to bump up to a 6.5 in these.

  • Very Painful!

I had a pair of Merrell boots that I was very happy with. I was excited to find a nice hiking shoe for my upcoming trip to the mountains. I wore them a few times around the house to make sure they were a good fit. Then I wore them two times outside and my feet hurt both times. The second time was worse than the first. I am afraid to try them again. Perhaps I should have purchased the wide width instead of the medium. I am disappointed that I cannot wear these for my upcoming trip!
