I give these cold weather hiking shoes a solid 5 stars. I live in Northern Ontario, Canada and it get's extremely cold up here at times and I have worn these all winter. There have been times where they did not keep my feet totally warm, but those were weather conditions where it was -40 outside. Lets all remember that they are shoes, not boots and they weren't designed to keep your feet warm in those temperatures. Aside from that, they are great in temps up to -20 or so, they are incredibly waterproof and they are extremely comfortable. The tread on these shoes is amazing and it grips to everything. I am still using these as spring hiking shoes. In fact, I used them today to go out mountain hiking. One of the best purchases I have ever made for a shoe. I am very impressed.

Without a doubt this is the best value, all season, general purpose hiking boot on the market ! The Thermo 6 boots are lite weight, have very good grip and are waterproof which is important in my line of work. I bought these boots for snowshoeing last november and going into this december I can't keep the boots dry. Where the soles meet the rubber toe part they are separating and letting in a lot of water. I was hoping to get more than one season out of these boots since they are not cheap. I have bouth pairs of merrelllast yearand they where having the same problem, The last thing I expected to get from a pair of merrell boots was cold wet feet, these were not the quality I expected.
