Bought these shoes because they were light and seemed like they would shed water. They feel great, not much support if you over pronate and have no orthotics in though. But other wise very comfortable especially without socks I find. The grip on the sole becomes fairly useless when wet especially when rockhopping but its fine on dirt. I wouldn't wear them on any sort of extended trip (more than one night) if you push yourself and your gear hard. I broke the fabric straps that hold the laces in within the first two hours of a summit climb in fairly wet but otherwise good conditions. They were replaced immediately by the store I bought them from so ill see how these ones go this weekend. Perhaps the strap failure was a lapse in production quality not sure. All in all buy them if you want comfort, a tight fit, great water shedding and a shoe lighter than socks. Avoid if you have to put a reasonable amount of confidence in your gear they may let you down. Have a look on the picture above you cab see how the lace is held every second loop by a strap that is stitched to the side its a great idea hopefully my new ones hold up. Andrew
