I work in a national park and am on my feet all day. I need shoes which are hardwearing, comfortable and can cope with all different terrains. These certainly fit the bill - they feel great all day long and look good too. I get lots of complements! Love them.

I left a review of the one pair of Merrells I bought that weren't of the same standard. I was called by a customer representative shortly after, and they arranged to have a look at the shoes. They replaced them with the Siren Sport Gortex shoes, I've been wearing these for the last 2 weeks, and they are fantastic. A little 'stiffer' than my other merrells, but I think thats the lining, which makes the shoes waterproof - perfect for my trip to Egypt & Jordan next month. I recently went on a 26km overnight hike and wore these shoes for the first time without having worn them before. They were SO comfortable, and gave me all the support I needed with my 15kg pack. All of my friends wore Merrell on the trip and loved them!

I have had these shoes for over 12 months and I love them. I have spent many days hiking in New Zealand and they were perfect. I have never owned a pair of hiking shoes before, never mind a pair of Merrell's. I would recommend them to anyone, at any level. They certainly met and exceed my expectations in every way. I am now looking at purchasing another pair for our visit to Italy in 8 weeks.

I bought these last week and luckily they were on sale. I was searching for a nice looking hiking shoe, with plenty of traction, stability and plenty of room for my wider size feet. I am normally a 7 and a half, but in the shop an 8 was better. They were to be used for my daily walks, and eventually for Europe early next year. I did all the homework, checked reviews, wore them for 30 minutes around the shop, wore them all day around the house and then decided on a 4km walk . I had noticed at home that they were rubbing my feet where the lace attachments are, so I took out the laces and only threaded it through the top three points and worked at stretching the toe box as much as possible. After 1 km the points of attachment could be felt on the inside of the shoes rubbing against my foot, exactly at the same spots on both feet near the toes. When I put my hand inside the shoes you could feel where the attachments are located.I walked back in bare feet. It is unlikely that it will improve with wear or stretching, and bandaging my feet is not an option as I am allergic to bandaids. Only by taking out the inner soles, lacing loosely and wearing very thick socks am I able to even wear them for even a short walk to the shops. I am so disappointed, but pleased I did not pay the normal Australian retail price. It was still a very expensive lesson, as I shall now have to look for some other brand. I am unable to return them to the shop as obviously they are not in original condition. They do look good though!!!
